Forces on Halves of a Uniformly Magnetized Sphere

چکیده
Show that the force between hemispheres in the left figure is the same as that between one such hemisphere and either a perfectly conducting plate, or a plate of infinite magnetic permeability. This problem was inspired by e-discussions with J. Castro Paredes. The force between two rectangular-prism permanent magnets has been deduced in [1]. For cylindrical magnets, see [2, 3], and for spheres, see [4].

Dynamical Interactions Between Two Uniformly Magnetized Spheres
Studies of the two-dimensional motion of a magnet sphere in the presence of a second, fixed sphere provide a convenient venue for exploring magnet–magnet interactions, inertia, friction, and rich nonlinear dynamical behavior. These studies exploit the equivalence of these magnetic interactions to the interactions between two equivalent point dipoles. We show that magnet–magnet friction plays a ...
متن کاملDelayed Equation for Charged Rigid Nonrelativistic Ball
Long time ago to calculate back-reaction of electromagnetic field on moving with acceleration a charged classical (not quantum) particle of finite size Sommerfeld [1] considered two models uniformly charged rigid sphere and uniformly charged rigid ball and found out explicit expressions for electromagnetic self-forces. These expressions in nonrelativistic limit are much simpler then the origina...
متن کاملTheory of collective spin-wave modes of interacting ferromagnetic spheres
We formulate the theory of the collective spin wave modes of arrays of spherical particles of ferromagnetic material, under the assumption that each sphere in the array is magnetized uniformly. In addition, the intersphere interactions have their origin in the magnetic fields generated by the precessing moments, appropriate to the case where there is no direct physical contact between the spher...

This work is a study of the Earths free oscillations considering a merge of solid and liquid model. At the turn of 19th century Geophysicists presented the theory of the free oscillations for a self-gravitating, isotropic and compressible sphere. Assuming a steel structure for an Earth size sphere, they predicted a period of oscillation of about 1 hour. About 50 years later, the free oscillat...

Single Point Mooring (SPM) are floating Structures that are deployed in deep water which their duties are vessel mooring and transferring oil and gas productions by pipelines from shore to petroleum tankers and conversely. One of the most important components of SPM is mooring system. Which bears not only environmental loads but also petroleum tanker loads which conducted by two thick ropes. Mo...
